A taste of the moon

For a long time, the animals wanted to know what the moon tasted like. Was it sweet or salty? They only wanted to taste a Little piece. One day, the tortoise decided to climb up the highest mountain so she could touch the moon.

From up there, the moon was closer, but the tortoise couldn’t reach it, and she called the elephant. “If you climb on my back, maybe we can reach the moon. The moon thought it was a game, and it moved away a Little.

As the elephant couldn’t touch the moon, he called the giraffe. “If you climb into my back, maybe we can reach the moon…” But when the moon saw the giraffe, it moved away a Little more. The giraffe strechted and strechted his neck, but he couldn’t touch the moon.

And they called the zebra. “If you climb into my back, maybe we can reach the moon…” The moon enjoyed the game, and moved away a Little more. The zebra strechted and strechted his neck, but she couldn’t touch the moon.

And so, they called the lion. “If you climb into my back, maybe we can reach the moon…” but when the moon saw the lion, it moved away a Little more. They still couldn’t touch the moon, and they called the fox. “We will make this time, if you clib onto my back”, said the lion. When the mon saw the fox, it moved away a Little more. Now, they could almost touch the moon, but it was moving further and further away. And so, they called the monkey. “Come on, jump onto my back! I’m sure we can do it this time!” The moon, saw the monkey and moved away a Little more. And so, they called the mouse. “Climb onto my back amd we will touch the moon!”, said the monkey.

This time, the moon thought: “This small animal could not catch me…” So the moon didn’t move.

So, the mouse climbed onto the tortoise, the elephant, the giraffe, the zebra, the lio, the fox and the monkey, and… he catch a Little piece of the moon. He tasted it and gave some of the piece to his friends. And the moon tasted of the thing each one liked the best. That night, the animals slept all together.

The fish, which was in the water, thought: “All that hard work to reach the moon in the sky… can’t you see there is another one much closer here in the water?

Once we have told the story, the pupils will have to recognize and find out the things that now are different. For that, they have to pay attencion.

Later we will change the order of the animals  that want to taste the moon.

 

THEY WILL HAVE TO SAY IT CORRECTLY !!

This activity is called "it looks like". The students have to guess what are some pictures showing. The pictures are related to the vocabulary we'll see in the story-telling.

They will have to match the picture that we saw them, with the corresponding word.

This activity is going to be done while the story is being told. 

We will show some flashcards of the story at the same time that the animals are being named for the children to understand it better.
