The hungry monster
The book is perfect for children aged 5-6
Deep in the mountains lived a monster.
Every hundred years he wakes up. He is very hungry.
“I want some breakfast” he said.
He went down the mountain to the village. He saw a boy “uuum, a boy for breakfast”.
“Don`t eat me!” said the Jimmy, “I´ll give you some food.”
Jimmy took the monster to his house. He ate three plates of chicken and rice.
“I´m still hungry!” said the monster.
Jimmy gave the monster more food. He ate five plates of spaguettis and ten sausages.
“I´m still hungry!” said the monster.
They went to the restaurant. The monster ate twenty pizzas and fifteen plates of rice with twelve eggs. After that he ate six cakes.
“I´m still hungry!” said the monster.
They went to the shop. The dragon ate all the fruit and tomatoes and mushrooms.
“I´m still hungry!” said the monster.
Jimmy locked in his pocket. There was one candy. He gave the candy to the monster. The monsters exploded!
“Hurray!!” shouted Jimmy. “The dragon is gone! No more boys for breakfast!”
Pre-Telling
On the pre-telling we find the activities we do before the tale. This activities are for kids comprehension.
The first activity is a flashcard activity for teach the children the new vocabulary. (Annex 1)
The vocabulary is this: eggs, chicken, rice, sausages, spaguettis, cake, candy.
DIDACTIC OBJECTIVES: With this activity we show the pupils the vocabulary about the tale.
The second activity is a puzzle they will have to ride in pairs. (Annex 2)
DIDACTIC OBJECTIVES: Make children enjoy and learn how to work in groups.
The third activity is a little song where we work the numbers until ten. This song is very easy.One little, two little, three little monsters,

Ten of them can’t scare me!

DIDACTIC OBJECTIVES: With this activity we show the pupils the numbers with the monsters, while we sing the song.
The fourth activity is paint a page with various monsters with different characteristics (Annex 3)
DIDACTIC OBJECTIVES: With this activity children develop their imagination to create their own characters. And they will learn in a fun way the a monster is not always scary.
Telling
On the telling we make questions of the children and we can know how is lisening the story. This activities questions are for kids to participate in the story.

Post-Telling
On the post-telling, the story was narrated and we find the activities related to the story.
The first activity the children will have to help the monster to get his food. They draw a line to match the monster with his food. Then have to paint the monster. (Annex 4)
DIDACTIC OBJECTIVES: With this activity the pupils reviewed some food about the tale.
In the second activity, pupils should find the five differences in the monster. (Annex 5)
DIDACTIC OBJECTIVES: Children will remember the monster in order to find the differences.
The third activity the pupils will remember the food seen before and circle the correct food. (Annex 6)
DIDACTIC OBJECTIVES: Children remember the vocabulary previously seen in flash card.
